What to Expect  During Your US Appointment

Flow of the Appointment

• You will first be seen by our Ultrasound Technologist for a brief clinical history followed by a screening ultrasound of the problem area, if necessary
• You will then be seen by our physician who will perform a full clinical history and physical examination
• You will then have a discussion about treatment options

General Comments

• If you have a history of fainting, please tell your doctor
• Please ensure adequate fluid intake on the day of procedure

For PRP Injections

• Please avoid the following 7 days prior to your procedure:
  • Anti-inflammatory medications:
    • Baby aspirin, aspirin
    • Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil)
    • Naproxen (Aleve)
  • Supplements:
    • Vitamin E, Vitamin A, ginko, garlic, flax, cod liver oil
• Please avoid the following 3 days prior to your procedure:
  • Recreational substances: Marijuana, smoking, and alcohol
• Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is okay to take for pain control
